Its M177 4.0L V8 biturbo engine produces 476-510 HP from the factory, and the original downpipe is built around cost, weight and noise targets rather than gas flow. Replacing it with a mandrel bent 76mm section removes the sharp restriction immediately after the turbine outlet, which lowers back pressure, sharpens throttle response and releases the exhaust note that the factory
